The Against All Odds singer was filmed performing onstage before hitting a man hidden from view in the crowd.

The 25-year-old, real name Costadinos Contostavlos, was restrained by a minder after the incident, and called a halt to the show altogether just five minutes later.

A witness to the incident told The Sun: “He stopped singing, reached out into the crowd and smashed someone right in the face.”

The man in the crowd apparently hit by Contostavlos’ microphone was taken to hospital.

Dappy said that he was defending himself from the man, who he claimed had swung a glass at him.

“I swung to disarm the glass from his hand. If that glass had hit me it could have been fatal.”

Contostavlos escaped a prison sentence in February after he was found guilty of assault and affray.

He was handed a suspended sentence of 18 months and ordered to do 150 hours of community service after starting a fight at a petrol station when two teenage girls refused to get into a car with him.
