Murder suspect held after man dies of injuries

Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a man found in an alleyway in Belfast died from his injuries.

The 41-year-old victim was discovered off Chamberlain Street in the east of the city early yesterday morning.

It is believed he was seriously assaulted.

Police were called to the scene at shortly after 1am and the man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Victoria Hospital.

The victim’s family have been informed.

A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) confirmed they have launched a murder inquiry.
