MRSA cases drop by almost 40 per cent
FEWER patients are contracting hospital infections such as MRSA and Clostridium difficile, according to a report.
The number of MRSA cases fell by almost 40 per cent last year, while C.diff cases amongst elderly patients dropped by over a third.
But the report showed that while cases of these were decreasing, more than 10 per cent of doctors were not washing their hands enough.
Hand hygiene plays a crucial role in combating the spread of infections in hospitals.
