Mine victims fund nears £400,000

A FUND launched to support the families of four coal miners killed in the Gleision Colliery disaster has nearly topped £400,000, shadow Welsh secretary Peter Hain told MPs.

Garry Jenkins, 39, Charles Breslin, 62, Philip Hill, 44, and David Powell, 50, died when water flooded the pit in Cilybebyll, near Pontardawe, South Wales, last month.
