Match–fixer Butt to appeal jail sentence

PAKISTAN cricketer Salman Butt has filed an appeal against a 30-month jail sentence for match fixing.

His lawyer said an appeal has been lodged against the term, handed down at London’s Southwark Crown Court last week. Butt, 27, was said to be “orchestrator” of a plot to bowl no-balls in the Lord’s Test against England last summer.
