Man in court charged with mum's murder

Nottinghamshire: A man will appear in court today charged with the murder of his 83-year-old mother.

Margaret Clapperton was found dead at her home in Mansfield on Sunday. Nottinghamshire Police said officers went to the address after her son Anthony presented himself at Mansfield police station.

Kent: A group of endangered water voles rescued from one of Europe's biggest sewage works ahead of building work at the site have been "breeding like rabbits" in their temporary home.

The water voles have produced 50 babies since being moved from Crossness sewage works.
