Man charged in hunting death

A 49-YEAR-OLD man was yesterday charged with the manslaughter of a 13-year-old boy shot during a night-time "lamping" expedition.

Byron Evans died in the incident at Lower Cholwell Farm, Harberton, South Devon last September.

The charged man has been bailed to appear at Plymouth magistrates court on Friday.

Byron, a boarder at Trinity School in Teignmouth, south Devon, died from a single .22 rifle bullet. His father, Royal Marine Warrant Officer Wayne Evans, and his mother, Debra Rowe, paid tributes to their son after his death.
