Man, 18, dies after car crashes into tree

AN 18-YEAR-old man died yesterday after crashing his car into a tree as a police car with flashing lights was driving in the opposite direction, police said.

The officer in the police car witnessed the crash as he was travelling to a separate incident.

The man was driving in the direction of Putnoe, Bedford, in the early hours of the morning and the police car was driving towards the town centre.
