Prices for official Olympic souvenirs were cut by up to 80 per cent – even before the Games began. Retailers last week introduced reductions on products with the 2012 logo.

Along with mascots Wenlock and Mandeville, they are not selling as fast as expected, so prices are being cut to clear stock.
