Les Miserables star wins libel damages

WEST End star Simon Bowman won £4,250 libel damages yesterday over a claim that he was the "new man" in actress Hannah Waterman's life after she split from her husband, EastEnders actor Ricky Groves.

But the star of Les Miserables will be out of pocket as he turned down a 10,000 offer to settle the case against MGN Ltd, which means his costs bill will wipe out the award. He had complained about an item on the Mirror website in January.
