Labour backs shift in inheritance tax

INHERITANCE tax could be charged to beneficiaries of wills instead of estates to better distribute wealth, a Labour peer has suggested.

Lord Eatwell, Labour’s Treasury spokesman in the Lords, suggested the reform, saying most of the house agreed inheritance tax was “unsatisfactory” in its current form.
