Jamie Oliver's beans on toast - that'll be £7

JAMIE Oliver’s top London restaurant is to begin selling an upmarket version of beans on toast, it emerged yesterday.

A trainee at the celebrity chef’s restaurant Fifteen created the dish, called Best Baked Bean Bruschetta, while experimenting with everyday foods. Her creation impressed bosses so much they have decided to put it on the menu, priced at 7.

The trainee chef, Zoe Brotherton, said: "I wanted to create something which diners will enjoy, is simple and nutritious, and fun too.

"This shows that even the most simple food you have at home can be a healthy and exciting meal," said the 21-year-old from Waltham Abbey, Essex.

The recipe includes a tin of Heinz baked beans, cherry tomatoes, basil, balsamic vinegar, red chillies, rocket and parmesan cheese.

The mixture is laid on two slices of ciabatta bread rubbed with garlic.
