James Murdoch to step down from BSkyB

BSkyB non-executive Chairman James Murdoch is to step down from his position with the broadcaster.

Sky News confirmed his departure today that he would be stepping down following a board meeting later this afternoon.

A spokesman for BSkyB declined to comment on the report.

Murdoch has been under pressure for his handline of the phone hacking scandal which resulted in the closure of the News of the World.
