It’s like broccoli – only better

A “SUPERBROCCOLI” developed by British scientists that fights heart disease and cancer goes on sale in the UK today.

The vegetable looks the same as normal broccoli but contains boosted levels of a health-giving nutrient. Research suggests the plant chemical, glucoraphanin, may protect the body against heart disease and some cancers.

Called Beneforte, the new version contains two to three times more glucoraphanin than standard broccoli. It will be sold by Marks & Spencer from today and make an appearance on other supermarkets’ shelves next year.
