Illegal immigrants flights cost £134m

FLYING out illegal immigrants has cost taxpayers nearly £134 million in the past five years, the Home Office has said.

Figures show the government paid an average of £26.7 million each year since 2007 to deport foreigners by plane. The bill climbed from £20m in 2007-08 to £29m in 2010-11 and included the cost of tickets for passengers who resisted and did not board.
