Baz, a seven-year-old cat, has a distinctive patch of black hair under his nose like the Nazi dictator’s moustache.

He was found dumped in a bin and clinging to life with severe injuries and blinded in his left eye.

Owner Kirsty Sparrow, 26, fears the timid tomcat was targeted by cruel youths because of his unfortunate likeness.

But five months on black and white Baz has been nursed back to full health and is now brave enough to venture back outside thanks to his caring neighbours.

Kirsty, from Tredworth, in Gloucestershire, said: “His eye has completely healed over and he is quite a lot heavier than he was.

“A lot of people say he looks like Hitler but he is so timid and gentle.

“He doesn’t seem to have been made more nervous by what happened, it’s weird.

“He’s happy to go outside, although he stays in the garden.

“His treatment cost £600 and some people from all over the country kindly sent me some donations which have covered about £80 of that.

“A neighbour looks out for Baz too, and we just hope that nothing like it will ever happen again.”

Baz failed to return home in May and a neighbour found him days later, dumped in a bin and on the brink of death.

Horrified Kirsty rushed him to a vet for emergency treatment where his left eye was removed because it was so badly damaged.

She added: “He’s so cute even if he does look like Hitler.

“It’s the first thing I asked about when I turned up at the vets, if his features were all still there. I was crying.

“He’s always looked like this way. His moustache is what makes him, him.”
