Hit–and–run driver kills elderly woman

AN 80-year-old woman has died after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver, police said.

She was hit while crossing a road in Yardley, Birmingham, on Saturday morning. West Midlands Ambulance Service said the woman had suffered “multiple serious injuries and was in cardiac arrest”.
