Myers revealed that while he and King were both taking medication for high blood-
pressure and high cholesterol, their health kick was partly an act of vanity.

He said he admired the tailoring of Paul Smith clothes and was delighted when he and King bumped into the designer in a hotel bar.

Myers added: “He was a lovely fella.

“I said, ‘I love your clothes Paul. Why don’t you do them in bigger sizes?’

“He said, ‘I don’t do clothes for fat blokes.’ Except he didn’t say ‘blokes’ !

“So when Si and I decided to diet, that was my target – get into a Paul Smith suit.”

The broadcasters have now shed weight thanks to a balanced diet and exercise.
