Girls Aloud plan special 10th anniversary celebration

GIRLS ALOUD have revealed that they will take inspiration from the Spice Girls as they plan their tenth anniversary celebrations.

The ‘girl-power’ quintet performed at the London Olympics closing ceremony, 18 years after originally forming, and Girls Aloud are said to be planning ‘something special’ to mark their own milestone.

Sarah Harding said in an interview with Hello! magazine: “We needed a break, time to do our own things, but now we’re starting to feel really nostalgic about the 10 years we’ve been a band and really want to mark it with something special.

“When I watched the Spice Girls on stage, I did think, ‘I want that to be us’”.

Girls Aloud went on hiatus in July of 2009 in order to concentrate on solo projects, and despite noises about tour and reunions in the time since, the break continued past the 12-month mark.

A 2013 tour was announced in March of this year by Nadine Coyle, with Cheryl Cole confirming that the group are set to reform in November, to coincide with their birthday. Plans are also underway to record a charity single for Children in Need, with Coyle also revealing that the group have begun working on new songs.
