Get-tough plea over ivory trade

THE Government is under pressure to take tough action against UK traders flouting elephant protection laws.

It is claimed the dealers are passing off jewellery and ornaments made from illegally poached ivory as antiques. The plea for action was made by the conservation charity, Care for the Wild International.
