Galaxy S5 patent suggests phone could be steel

A patent registered in the US by Samsung has suggested that the phone giant’s Galaxy S5 could be made of steel.

The patent was initially filed in South Korea two years ago. An illustration of the phone shows a thin handset with a large screen and sharp angles.

The current Samsung S4 has a plastic case, which has drawn criticism from consumers pointing to Samsung rivals Apple and HTC, whose phones have glass and metal covers respectively.
