Funeral for soldier killed in Afghanistan

Northumberland: The funeral will be held today for a teenage soldier who was killed in Afghanistan after treading on a hidden bomb.

Guardsman Michael Sweeney, 19, of 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards, died in the Babaji District of central Helmand Province on 1 April.

The teenager, from Blyth, leaves behind his parents, Michael and Kimberley, and fiance Michelle.

London: Business leaders today called for continued investment in transport in London, warning that millions of commuters would have to suffer "cattle-class misery" otherwise.
