Funeral for ex-Labour leader Michael Foot

London: The funeral service for former Labour leader Michael Foot was being held in north London today.

A host of friends and senior politicians were expected to say farewell to the left-wing crusader and parliamentarian who died earlier this month, aged 96.

He led Labour to its heaviest defeat at the 1983 general election.

Essex: A bronze statue dedicated to a 15-year-old girl killed in a car crash has been stolen from the grounds of her school.

Camilla Hamilton, of Felsted, near Chelmsford, died when a car being driven by her best friend, also 15, crashed in June 2003.
