In the movie, his life will unfold through a trio of fictional internet dates, for which he goes under the alias of Harrison.

Producer Jan Kruger told the website the WikiLeaks founder was seen as “a Robin Hood of the digital age who stumbles over his own personality”.

Mr Assange is seeking asylum at Ecuador’s embassy in London as he seeks to avoid extradition to Sweden, where he is wanted for questioning over the alleged sexual assault of two women.

The film will reportedly depict the Australian as a man who defied authority from a young age.
