Father and son found dead

A MAN and a baby boy have been found dead in a house in Preston, Lancashire.

It is believed the man, thought to be the child’s father, took his own life, but police are unsure how the baby died.

A spokeswoman for Lancashire Police said yesterday: “Officers were called to an incident at an address in the Ribbleton area of Preston at around 6:15pm.

“On arrival, a man and a baby were found dead. A detective superintendent from the major investigation team is leading the inquiry and is attending the scene.”

Neighbours named the man as taxi driver Paul McBride, who was in his early 30s. The house was believed to belong to his mother. It was said the deaths were discovered by a family member who ran into the street “screaming incoherently”.

“It’s shocking, a terrible thing,” said a neighbour.
