Engineer hurt in lift plunge
A LIFT engineer has suffered a serious head injury after falling down a lift shaft in a block of flats.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the residential building in Paradise Street, Birmingham, shortly before 12:30pm yesterday.
A spokesman said: “Crews found a man in his twenties had fallen 10ft to 15ft on to a metal grid in an access shaft next to the main lift.
“The man was treated at the scene for a serious head injury together with arm, pelvic and chest pains.
“The patient was immobilised and given pain relief before being conveyed to hospital.”
