Edinburgh-London flight diverts after emergency

A FLIGHT from Edinburgh to London was forced to divert this morning after signalling an emergency.

Flight BA8703, a British Airways flight from the Scottish capital to London City airport, was scheduled to land at Manchester after declaring an emergency shortly after 10am today.

The aircraft involved is believed to be an Embraer E190, capable of carrying 98 passengers.

British Airways operates a number of flights between Edinburgh and London City, with ten flights leaving the capital today alone.
