Eccleston speaks out on role

FORMER Doctor Who actor Christopher Eccleston said he quit as the Time Lord as he wanted to be his "own man". The 46-year-old also said if he remained in the job he would have had to "blind myself to things I thought were wrong".

Eccleston also said the show broke the mould and "I'm very proud of it".
