Duchess of Cambridge baby shower planned by Pippa

In a Royal first, the Duchess of Cambridge will have a baby shower for her and William’s baby and it will be organised by younger sister Pippa.

The Duchess, due to give birth to her first child in July of this year, received the blessing of the Queen to go ahead with the event, which will host friends and family of the Royal couple.

A friend told the Sun: “It isn’t royal tradition but Kate isn’t a traditional Royal. She is modern and wants a normal life.

“Prince Harry, Kate and William are the Royal Family’s link to the younger generation.

“A baby shower wouldn’t normally happen if you’re in the Royal Family, but there is now a modern way of thinking.

“It will be a great day for everyone and Kate is doing this with the blessing of the Queen.”

Pippa who has famously written a book about planning and hosting parties will take charge of hosting the bash in honour of the Duchess and her baby. Pippa is even rumoured to have roped in their brother James - who runs a baking company - to make a special dummy-shaped cake for the occasion.
