Drummer takes a pop at being an MP

THE former drummer from Brit Pop band Blur is hoping to become an MP at the next general election.

Dave Rowntree, 47, who played on hits including Girls And Boys and Parklife, is one of four candidates on Labour’s selection shortlist for Norwich South – the seat held by former home secretary Charles Clarke until last year.
