Drivers suspect garages of rip-offs

ALMOST half of motorists feel they have been "ripped off" by garages, especially younger drivers, says a new study.

A survey of more than 1,000 adults by consumer group Motor Codes showed high levels of dissatisfaction among people taking their cars for repair.

One in four of those who felt short changed believed they had been over-charged by up to 150 by their local garage.
