Downton creator will be all at sea

VIEWERS will get a glimpse of Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes’ new drama – about the sinking of the Titanic – on Christmas Day.

The two-minute trailer will be shown on ITV1 after the special festive episode of the country house drama.

ITV’s Rufus Radcliffe said: “Titanic promises to be a massive TV event in 2012, and what better moment to start building anticipation amongst our viewers than an epic trail coming out of ITV’s Downton Abbey Christmas special.”

The four-part drama stars Linus Roache, Celia Imrie and Timothy West.

Director Jon Jones said: “We have built a huge section of the ship, packed with rooms arranged to allow us a sense that we have the run of the ship.”
