Daniel Craig takes to stage with Rachel Weisz

Husband and wife Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz will play an adulterous couple on stage on Broadway, beginning in November.

The pair, who married in secret in 2011, will star in a production of Harold Pinter’s Betrayal, which was inspired by the playwright’s affair with broadcaster Joan Bakewell.

Weisz will play Emma, who is married to Craig’s Robert, but is having an affair with Jerry, played by Rafe Spall.

007 actor Craig is fiercely protective of his private life and rarely speaks about his marriage to The Constant Gardener star.

In 2011, he criticised celebrities who “sell” themselves and then make demands about their private lives.

“Look I’m in love, I’m very happy. That is as far as I’m prepared to go,” he told GQ. “Life is long, life goes wrong and I don’t want to say something now that might be thrown back later.”
