Crufts: Rescued Border collies go for gold

Three special rescue dogs have been put through their paces ahead of this year’s Crufts.

Border collies Holly, Frostie and Jimmy, which were rehomed by a Kennel Club breed rescue organisation, are taking part in the agility section of this year’s show at the National Exhibition Centre near Birmingham.

The show, running from Thursday to Sunday, will feature a record 2,132 dogs from overseas, including entrants from Hong Kong, India, Indonesia and Malaysia.

A total of 20,566 dogs have been entered in breed judging, gamekeepers’ classes and obedience championships, while thousands more will take part in agility, heelwork to music, flyball competitions and displays.

Hollie, Frostie and Jimmy were found new homes by Valgrays Border Collie Rescue and attended the pre-Crufts warm-up with their owners.

Frostie , then five months old, was given a home by Jayne Morgan early last year and will star in the main arena at this week’s show.
