Crowds turn out but William fails to find the net in street hockey shoot-out

THE Duke of Cambridge took part in a street hockey shoot-out in Canada yesterday, as he and his wife were presented with shirt numbers 1 and 2.

Having beaten his wife in a dragon boat race the day before, William clearly felt he was on a winning streak when he decided to take penalties in a game of street hockey during their welcome. But the duke’s luck ran out when he faced 6ft 3in goalie Calvin Lomen, and he failed to hit the target with any of his three shots.

Hundreds of wellwishers had gathered to greet the couple. The crowd screamed and shouted to the pair, mirroring the reaction William and Kate have received throughout their visit to Canada.
