Couple’s killer in jail attack
Kaniel Martin was one of two men convicted in July of killing Welsh newlyweds Benjamin and Catherine Mullany on the holiday island of Antigua, and was sentenced last month.
Sergeant William Holder, of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda, said Martin had used a “sharp implement”. His 21-year-old victim was treated in hospital for “serious but not life-threatening” injuries.

Hide AdMr and Mrs Mullany, both 31, were gunned down in Antigua in July 2008, two weeks after they tied the knot.
Martin and Avie Howell burst into their beachside hotel chalet during a dawn raid before shooting them both in the head – making off with a digital camera, mobile phone and a small quantity of cash.
Less than a fortnight later, the men went on to kill local shopkeeper Woneta Anderson in almost identical circumstances.
