Cost of running home falls

RECORD low interest rates have driven down the cost of running a home by 6 per cent in the past two years.

The average cost of owning and running a property fell by 544 between April 2008 and April 2010 to 9,020, according to Halifax. Housing costs now take up 27 per cent of average full-time earnings.
