Cost of living rising quicker for poorest

The cost of living has been rising more quickly for the poorest households as a result of higher energy and food bills.

The TUC said CPI inflation for the 10 per cent of households in February was 4.1 per cent, compared to 3.3 per cent for the richest 10 per cent. Poorer families have been hit more as they spend a larger proportion of income on food and utilities.
