Classic car home with a bang

A COUPLE who completed a 33,000-mile damage-free trip around the world in a rare car came back to the UK to find a “large dent” in the side after leaving it in a supermarket car park.

Retirees Geoffrey and Hilary Herdman, from Bristol, who took 16 months to complete their “wrinkly gap year” trip in the 1956 Bristol 405 Drophead Coupe, saw the funny side.

“A car is for using, it’s not a work of art,” Mr Herdman said.
