'Child porn' couple held

A RETIRED army major and his wife have been arrested on suspicion of importing child pornography, police said today.

James Scarlett and wife Carolyn, both 65, run a naturist film, book and magazine business from their 16th century manor house in Gloucestershire. The pair were released on police bail until mid-March.

In the 1990s, Customs officers raided the 12-bedroom manor and seized material.

Magistrates threw out claims its content was "indecent" after an appeal.
