Charles chooses image for Christmas cards

AN IMAGE from the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has been chosen by the Prince of Wales for his Christmas card this year.

In the picture, Charles is seen standing next to the Duchess of Cornwall as he holds up his wife’s three-year-old granddaughter and bridesmaid Eliza Lopes.

They were photographed when the newlywed William and Catherine and all the wedding party went on to the Buckingham Palace balcony to greet the tens of thousands who had filled The Mall in April.

The picture was taken by the Press Association’s royal photographer, John Stillwell, who said: “I’m delighted the Prince of Wales has chosen my picture from the thousands he could have picked.”

Printed on the outside of each card are the Prince of Wales’s feathers and the Duchess’s cypher.
