Cameron under fire from backbencher

A HIGH-profile Conservative backbencher has launched an attack on the government, accusing it of “incompetence at the highest levels”.

In a letter to his local newspaper, David Davies offered his apologies to constituents who felt “let down” by the Tory-led coalition.

David Cameron would not remain Prime Minister for long, unless he “changed tack”, he warned.

The Monmouth MP warned that the government’s economic message was being sidelined by issues such as to legalise gay marriage and reform the House of Lords.

“David Cameron needs to change his tack very rapidly otherwise he’s not going to be in position for very long,” Mr Davies wrote. “I am sure he realises his supporters are not happy with what’s going on.”
