Call for Remembrance Sunday shop closures

THE annual silence on Remembrance Sunday should not be drowned out by the "ringing of the cash till", a senior Tory warned yesterday.

Sir Patrick Cormack called on ministers to order the closure of large shops on Remembrance Sunday to bring it into line with Christmas Day and Easter Sunday.
