Brooke Kinsella furious over compensation

FORMER EastEnders actress Brooke Kinsella has branded as “unbelievably unfair” a five-figure compensation payout to the father of one of her brother’s killers.

Her parents, George and Debbie, received £10,000 – the most the law then allowed for criminal injuries compensation – after 16-year-old Ben was knifed to death in 2008.

However, Michael Alleyne snr, whose son Michael Alleyne jnr was convicted of Ben’s murder in 2009, won a settlement from the Metropolitan Police this week and was awarded double that amount.

Mr Alleyne was injured when officers raided his flat in Islington, north London, while searching for his son the morning after Ben’s death. They had a warrant for Michael jnr’s arrest, but he had already fled.

A court was told last year that during the tense raid, Mr Alleyne’s pitbull terrier was tasered and sprayed with a fire extinguisher after it barked at police.

Ms Kinsella, 29, wrote: “So unbelievably unfair for our beautiful Ben and for every victim out there. Please help us make change.”

Her younger brother Ben was stabbed 11 times in a north London street after a night out celebrating the end of his GCSE exams.
