Brit Award winner Adele tops album chart

The artists who won big at the Brit Awards last week also performed well in the UK Album Chart yesterday, with songstress Adele returning once again to the top spot.

The singer won two awards at Tuesday’s ceremony following her six-award triumph at the Grammys the week before.

Her album 21, the biggest selling record of 2011, was back at number one, up from three, in its 57th week in the charts. Her earlier album 19 moved into the seventh slot, up from ninth.

Scottish singer Emeli Sandé, the Brit Awards Critics’ Choice winner, was knocked from prime position down to number two with her album Our Version Of Events.
