Bloody art goes up for auction

Artwork by musician Pete Doherty – which includes pieces created with his blood – is expected to raise tens of thousands of pounds at auction.

A collection of paintings, trinkets, clothes and guitars belonging to the 33-year-old will go on sale on Friday at the Cob Gallery in London, where the works were recently exhibited as On Blood: A Portrait of the Artist.

One work, Ladylike, includes a self-portrait by Amy Winehouse which she also created with her blood. That work is the standout piece and is estimated to raise between £50,000 to £80,000.

Other items are expected to fetch between £50 and £12,000 each.
