Blanket gains tax increase 'threatens UK's recovery'

ENTREPRENEURS have warned against a blanket capital gains tax increase in next week's emergency Budget, claiming it could force investment abroad and threaten Britain's recovery.

Chancellor George Osborne is expected to raise the rate of CGT from 18 per cent to something nearer to income tax rates.

In a letter, 110 entrepreneurs did, though, back the aim of preventing wealthy individuals "disguising" income as assets.
