Beach breaks abroad cost 25% less than a week in London during Olympics

Beach breaks abroad will cost an average of 25 per cent less than a week in London during the Olympics.

A trip to popular overseas destinations will set you back an average of £1,298 in the week from 28 July to 4 August, according to a study. By contrast, the same week in London, including spending money, will cost about £1,631.

The lowest price among the ten destinations surveyed was Alicante in Spain at £927, while a seven-day break to Bodrum, Turkey would cost £1,102, said the M&S Money survey.
