Labour MP Barry Sheerman criticised its use of broadcasters such as David Dimbleby and demanded that people with "ordinary backgrounds" be given a chance. But Culture Secretary Ben Bradshaw said one of the BBC's "great strengths" was that it valued talent of all ages.
