BBC apologises after journalist suicide

A BBC journalist, believed to have taken his own life, might still be alive if complaints he made about alleged bullying had been dealt with better, his family said last night.

The family of Russell Joslin, 50, said he had been let down by the BBC, which yesterday apologised “unreservedly”.

Mr Joslin, a reporter for the BBC in Coventry and Warwickshire, died in Warwick Hospital on 22 October 2010 after being hit by a bus three days previously.

After being taken to hospital, he was admitted to a nearby psychiatric unit. A post-mortem examination found Mr Joslin died from asphyxiation.
